Circulatory System Evolution and Classification
The Circulatory System is the body system that transports materials through out the body. It is composed of many vessels and muscles that join together to regulate the flow of blood across the body. Circulation is the term given to the process of controlling the flow of blood. The four main parts within the Circulatory System are the heart, arteries, capillaries and veins. The circulatory system takes oxygen-rich blood through the arteries. The veins remove the low oxygen blood that has been used back to the heart, where the carbon dioxide is released and oxygen comes in.
Without the circulatory system, a body could not operate. The circulatory system is a crucial mechanism for life because without it constantly and consistently pumping oxygenated blood to your brain, your cells would die.
